Tony Ward, presented the 2019 spring-summer collection entitled « Anatomy of A Wing » at the School of Medicine in Paris.
The designer was inspired by the anatomy of the Dragonfly, this unusual insect to the majestic aspect to imagine his collection. The lines of the silhouettes are drawn from the structure of the thin and delicate wings of this dragonfly that seems so fragile, we find them in the details of embroidery, in geometric shapes or on reconstituted wings and beautiful hair accessories designed by Yana Markova.

The whole singularity of the collection appears in the bold mix of noble materials that play with the transparency and lightness of the volumes. The fast beats of the dragonfly’s movements are translated by a voluptuous structure that moves the pieces with each step.

The palette in holographic colors ranging from intense violet to emerald green, is softened by pastel tones reminiscent of the body and iridescent wings of the dragonfly. A remarkable collection, the dresses appeared to replicate the remarkable behavior of the dragonfly.
