Stéphane Rolland, presented his new collection Haute Couture spring-summer 2019 at the Champs-Élysées theater in Paris.
Located in the lobby of the Champs-Élysées theater, where many of Diaghilev’s extraordinary early ballets took place, this show and this collection were sublime.

A music by Debussy, a ballet by Diaghilev, ‘Prélude à l’après midi d’un faune’ initiates the first strokes that constitutes the collection.

An artist, Song Dong, Chinese architect and painter. On a canvas, he transcripts the organic shades of the Earth, which will be used as a base for silicon and rose gold embroideries.

From the freedom of the 20s reinterpreted to the heroines inspired by the mythological murals of Antoine Bourdelle housed in this theatre, everything is taking shape for this summer 2019 season.

An architectural cut, round and generous, smooth drapings, wide and airy.

The colours are soft, powdered and luminous. Whites and blacks associated to multiple skin tones, pink coral and sunny yellow.

Thus, we discover :

A wide mandarin coat in white wool on a chiffon tunic and crepe pants embroidered with mother of pearl.

An oversized jumpsuit in beige crepe embroidered is draping itself and wraps like a scarf.

An other large vestal jumpsuit is in crepe, wisely wrinkled and embroidered.

A cape in satin cuir embroidered with pendants reveals, with a tight window, a dress in pleated jersey.

Layerings, asymmetry, volumes are contrasting and dissociated.

Gigantic organza blouses embroidered with leather are worn on pleated

crinolines or pencil skirt in white lamb.

A large asymmetrical tunic combined to big underskirts covered in black crepe.

An unravelled sculpture, like a splash of black ink, ends in a long floating draping.

A long tunic in lace embroidered with rose gold and black coral inspired by Song Dong’s art is combined with wide pants in white crepe.

A sleeveless top in embroidered jersey is worn on an immense embroidered silk tulle waterfall.

Embroidered chiffon headscarves are carelessly tied on the head and flow until the lower back.

Big rings in crystal, floral neckpieces and orchid-mittens in rose gold are the new sculptural accessories.

Fun and precious bags with silicon fringes made by the artist Tzuri Gueta sway with each step.

Salomé heels or ballet flats in satin with leather buckles and rose gold buttons are the last note to punctuate and determine the look.

The oriental spirit of the Russian Ballets gives to all these Isadora Duncan, a breath of freedom and opulence.

The 2019 Stéphane Rolland woman, delicately adorned, is a bohemian caryatid with a casual elegance.
