Rami Al Ali, the Syrian designer presented his autumn-winter sewing collection 2017-2018 at the Ritz Hotel in Paris. In a vision of elegance and creativity, Al Ali plunges into the historical beauty of Abbot Handerson Thayer’s artwork Angel synthesizing his innocence, technique and grandeur.
Inspired by the serenity of the Angel’s painting and its majestic wings representing strength and fragility, the collection presents an artistic ensemble of visual elements. For the couturier, the wings of the Angel symbolize the embodiment of feminine virtue and its aesthetic splendor. The astonishing configuration of colors and material complexities in both silhouettes and ornate details, reflect the magnificent and complex qualities of modern woman; Illuminating both the power and the delicacy symbolized by an angel.

Luxurious fabrics are assembled in complex corrugated shapes in a set of structured lines and at the same time flexible, with tulle, organza, dive and gazar; Symbolizing the wings of the Angel.

The hand-made ornaments of the pieces embody a discreet feminine charm and powerful self-control. The shades of geranium and claret dominate the darker colors of the palette, contrasting with the lighter shades composed of morning mauve and silver pink, depicting the delicacy, grace and strength of an angel’s wings.

Continuing to maintain her signature, female sensuality Al Ali, the silhouettes are fluid and structured, reflecting modern sensitivity and echoing a model of virtue and strength. The complex characteristics of each look, combined with shoes designed by Christian Louboutin creates a sense of elegance and tranquility within the collection.
The innovative collection by Rami Al Ali demonstrates how creativity, unique craftsmanship and historical creation can be combined through the art of sewing.
