Leonard Paris, presented the spring-summer 2019 collection in Paris. The designer Christine Phung draws inspiration from the landscapes of Kenya and Tanzania. The Masai Mara is one of the most beautiful wild savannas, this part of the world is discolored by the heat of the sun: everything is more intense, more powerful and vitalizing.
There are pieces of clay and klein blue leather, revisited Sahariennes, pants in gabardine thermosoudée, silk cords and embroidered evening dresses. The prints are hand-painted, their bright colors evoke the landscapes of Masai Mara. The silhouettes are adorned with large soft pink flowers and moiré, historic signature of the house Leonard.
The whole collection is built from the architectural spirit of trench and shirt, which evolves gradually to the asymmetry of draped dresses, traditional knots. To celebrate Leonard’s 60th birthday, seven « heritage » silhouettes inspired by the finest archives of the house complete this show.
