Laskaris, Greek creator presented his new couture collection « Prisme » autumn-winter 2017-2018 in Paris. A collection inspired by the works of two great Greek artists, Chirico and Engonópoulos. The PRISME is the key that opens the door of this collection. A passage to a surrealist world, where the dream is omnipresent, the act of creation is spontaneous, paradoxically anchored in the present.
The enamels that dot the collection are molded and entirely hand-made in his Athenian workshop. The purity of the lines symbolizes the different routes that each of us must choose throughout his life, this trajectory that is personal to us. It is the past that gives us the means to move towards the future.
For the creator: « My work, is only a reflection of what I think, I feel, I try and I realize. Knowing how to see a situation with the eyes of the spirit comes back to see it with the greatest objectivity possible. To see means to conceive. It is the true nature of thought. »
And, above all, PRISM is a celebration of light, the one that composes a painting, which is opposed to obscurantism, that which dwells in a soul …
