Jean Paul Gaultier, presented his new collection Haute Couture spring-summer 2019 in Paris. This collection has transported us to an aquatic world where jellyfish, corals and seaweeds travel together in colorful silhouettes towards the Japanese shores, with a focus on revisited marinière, shark-point jackets and the cages dear to the creator.

A start with iconic nautical looks with bright stripes that have become both plush blouses and underwear and perfectly cut underwear.

A Japanese touch appeared with long coats inspired by kimonos, tops or crossed dresses with sharp shoulders, similar to armor embroidered with sequins, folded pieces of tulle, superimposed in asymmetrical dresses.
Another particularity of this collection was the science-fiction creations, thanks to brightly colored dresses or evening creations in pure black. One of them, worn by the iconic Dita Von Teese, had a glamorous chic side.
