Maria Grazia Chiuri, artistic director of the Maison Dior presented her new haute couture collection autumn-winter 2017-2018 in Paris. A collection in tribute to all sorts of women from all countries. The luxury fashion house celebrates its 70th anniversary. Today, Maria Grazia Chiuri, the first woman in the reins of the House decided to pay her homage in her own way. A collection in honor to the woman. This means growth, mutation, emotion. A personal path first.

For Maria Grazia Chiuri, the atlas symbolizes a desire for distant lands, the need to travel to discover the world and oneself, to feel emotion, to grow and evolve. He evokes his own journey from Rome to Paris and his exploration of the Dior heritage.
As agitated as the first women explorers who have overcome geographical and psychological boundaries, she is attracted by the talent of the heroine to borrow elements of the male cabinet and mix them with ethnic pieces. Thanks to the sensitivity of the designer and the new technologies, the masculine fabrics are transformed into shimmering and light-colored surfaces on jackets, coats, blouses and combinations that recall the aviator jackets and open in skirts of Panties pleated.

The path traveled in this tour becomes, for Maria Grazia Chiuri, a topography of emotions: colors, flowers and embroidered tarot cards themselves become atlases on cloaks and evening dresses in silk and tulle, Gray powder with shades of pink or nocturnal velvet. This hamlet, an imaginary cartography that invents and defies its point of view, recalls the monumental maps and the globes of the great interiors: they relay the power of feminine literary emotions, sprinkled with explorations of culture and style.

With this collection, Maria Grazia Chiuri pays tribute to the tradition, history, cultural heritage of Dior, but also to project it in the future. A future always faithful to its roots, but at the forefront, with a (feminine) look into the future and exciting new horizons.
