Chanel, presented its Couture collection spring-summer 2019 at the Grand Palais in Paris. Chanel takes us to the South, in a magnificent setting in the heart of a Mediterranean villa set up for the parade. Karl Lagerfeld, did not come out for the last tour. Instead, Virginie Viard replaced him.
An 18th-century inspired collection of feathers, floral embroidery and embellishment set the stage for beauty with a touch of rock.
The collection included classic motifs from the historic period, such as the pastel color palette, floral embroidery and frilly skirts. However, it also included Chanel’s iconic costumes, redesigned with a longer hemline and boat necklines.
The models paraded on the catwalks with a dark and spectacular make-up, a bold lipstick and hairstyles inspired by the legendary David Bowie. The wedding dress was spectacular, with a sequined swimsuit with a matching bathing cap to which was attached a glittering veil.
