Blumarine, presented the spring-summer 2019 collection on the theme “Romantic Dynamism” in Milan. Blumarine’s Spring-Summer 2019 collection embraces an opposition of seemingly opposed elements, mixed in an imprudent rhythm, where they find a new sense of balance in harmony with the spirit of the time. Mix sports attitude and poetry; fluorescent lycra and etheric muslin; fragility and dynamism.

It is a creative virtuosity, a spirited flair which combines tradition and modernity; luxe and coolness; sensuality and utilitarian ease; tailoring and hyper-feminine fluidity. Day-glo spandex leggings with elasticated logo-ed bands are worn with a nod to eccentric allure under impalpable python-printed chiffon dresses, concocted with Blumarine’s knack for dreamy romance.

Embellishments are rich and luxurious, embroidered on sporty basketball tees in flimsy nude tulle or on boxing robes in see-through silk net.  Safari jackets and military jumpsuits with carrot-shaped high-waisted pants exude an easy attitude, as well as tailored blazers with oversized shoulders enhancing the silhouette with an assertive, strong look,  softened by the silkiness of shiny fabrics, washed and smooth to the touch.

Impalpable chiffons and georgettes, signature Blumarine’s fabrications, are infused with a fresh appeal contrasting with artificial-looking metallic sequins, which are given a textural, sensual shimmer. As in a daring game, clear pvc is paired with delicate Chantilly lace, while laminated denim alternates with precious antique Tombolo macramé. Floral prints dissolve into airbrushed clouds, melting into abstract motifs printed on flimsy viscose knitwear, their colors saturated and bright: orange, orchid, turquoise, sunflower.

It is a romantic, modern feel that the collection exudes, laced with grace and a hint of irony. Blumarine is looking into the future through the eyes of a dynamic, seductive femininity.Photos: Blumarine
